Description
Nos 86, 88, and 90 on James Street are a mid-19th century terrace built from hammer-dressed stone, with some parts rendered. The pitched roof is covered in stone slate, although No 90 has a concrete tile roof. The west gable is coped and features footstones, while stone brackets support the gutter. The building is two storeys high.
On the south elevation, there is a four-light stone mullioned window, a five-light stone mullioned window, and two six-light stone mullioned windows on the ground floor. The first floor has a 14-light stone mullioned window, of which five lights are blocked, and two eight-light stone mullioned windows, one of which has two lights blocked.
The east elevation features a small round-arched window with a tabled sill on the first floor. The north elevation includes an extension with a catslide roof, which has two two-light stone mullioned windows on the first floor, one of which has one light blocked.
