Description

Nos 77 and 79 on Handel Street are a pair of well-preserved weavers' houses dating from the early to mid 19th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a pitched stone slate roof with a coped gable. Stone brackets support the gutter. The buildings rise three storeys. The south elevation includes two 3-light stone mullioned windows and two 4-light stone mullioned windows on the ground floor. The first and second floors each have two 11-light stone mullioned windows, three of which have round arched frames.
