Description

Claremont Cottage is a mid-19th century building located on New North Road in Highfield. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a steeply pitched slate roof with bargeboarded gables. The cottage has a staggered three-bay plan, with each bay having its own gable.

The east bay includes a three-light stone mullioned window on the first floor, with the central light being the tallest and a hoodmould above it. The ground floor of this bay has a canted bay window. The central bay features a door with a four-centred ash hoodmould and a single-light window with a traceried head on the first floor. The west bay has a three-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor and a two-light stone mullioned window on the first floor, with gable coping supported by kneelers.
