Description

Kebroyd Hall, now comprising Nos 1-7, is a large house dating from the late 18th century with additions made in the mid-19th century and subsequently converted into flats. The building is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a slate roof. The main U-shaped part features a central range with four bays of tall windows, originally sashed, with plain stone surrounds, and a doorway with an architrave. Wings project forward. To the left are four bays of similar windows. A wide basket arched carriage entrance is located to the right, featuring a keystone and impost. The building has two doorways and further windows consistent with the main facade. The left wing has a mid-19th-century front with windows featuring lugged architraves, consoles, and a cornice, along with a sill band over the ground floor windows and less elaborate windows above. The left hand return wall presents seven symmetrical bays with surrounds similar to the front, some with a sill band. An eaves cornice tops the building, with two or three stacks to each range. The courtyard is enclosed by ashlar walls incorporating an open parapet with roundels, and wide, chamfered gate piers with tapering caps.
