Description
This is a barn with origins in the 17th century, mostly dating from the early 19th century, located adjoining Lane Ends and Nos 2 and 3 in Sowerby Bridge, Norland. It is constructed from coursed squared stone and features a stone slate roof. The barn has three bays and includes quoins on the left side. There is a central segmental-arched cart-entry with quoins, a mistal door, and a window to the left end. The right end is obscured by a 20th-century porch attached to No 3. Above the cart-entry, there is a round-arched light with an oculus on either side. A pent-roofed addition is present on the left side. At the rear, opposite the cart-entry, there is a quoined doorway with a deep lintel. Inside, the barn features queen-post roof trusses. The building is included for its group value.
