Description
This barn, located 10 meters southeast of number 10 Horsehold in Hebden Bridge, was built in 1841 and is associated with Henry Appleyard, as indicated by the initials "H A." It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The front has a basket-arched cart entry with tie-stone jambs and a raised keystone. Above this entry is a Venetian window with an inscribed lintel. On either side of the cart entry, there are doorways flanked by single light windows that have projecting sills. The barn has quoins, coped gables with kneelers, and rectangular ventilators with circular holes at the apex. The rear of the barn includes another cart entry with a straight lintel, as well as doorways on either side that feature long quoined lintels with stop-chamfered surrounds.
