Description
A row of cottages forming house-over-house dwellings, built in the mid-19th century. The cottages are constructed from dressed stone with a stone slate roof. The row comprises six bays. The first two bays facing the street are three-storey with a basement, while the remaining bays are two-storey with a basement. Bays 1 to 4 have a different roof line than bays 2 and 6. Access to the underdwelling is directly from the basement, situated beneath the doorway of the overdwelling. The ground floor windows are mullioned with two lights, and the upper floor windows are also mullioned with two lights, featuring tie-stone jambs. Quoins are present, and the gables are coped with kneelers. The rear elevation has three or four floors of three-light, flat-faced mullioned windows to each bay. There are six stacks located on the ridge.
