Hare And Hounds Inn

The Hare and Hounds Inn is a public house built in the late 18th century. It features watershot masonry and a stone slate roof, standing two storeys tall. The building has quoins, an added parapet, and a cornice. Its front is five bays wide, with the fourth bay containing a doorway that has monolithic jambs and a cornice, along with a single light above. The other bays are fitted with double chamfered mullioned windows, each with three lights on both floors. There are quoins at the junction of the third and fourth bays, and the building has a central stack on the ridge along with two additional stacks. Although built in the late 18th century, it retains many characteristics of the late 17th century, making it a notable example of local vernacular architecture.
