Description
Lower Coneygarth Farmhouse is a house that retains some features from the mid 17th century, with alterations made in the mid 18th century and mid 19th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with ashlar quoins and has a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys.
On the east front, there is a four-light double chamfered mullioned window, with a four-light chamfered mullioned window above it on the first floor. To the left, there is a doorway with monolithic jambs next to a three-light flat-faced mullioned window, which has a four-light window above it on the first floor. The left-hand return wall features large 19th-century flat-faced mullioned windows with two lights and a doorway with monolithic jambs.
At the rear, what was originally a single-storey outshut has been raised to two storeys, now featuring a flat-roofed dormer added in the mid 20th century. The right-hand return wall includes a gable entry doorway into an aisle and chamfered mullioned windows with two lights on either side and on the first floor. There is a single stack at the ridge.
