Description
Nos 4 to 10 on Silver Street are mid to late 19th century buildings designed in a Gothic style. They stand three storeys tall, plus an additional storey in the slated roof. The shops on the ground floor are separated by cast iron columns. Above, there are three windows for each unit, featuring segmental and pointed arches. The buildings also have stone dormers and small windows set into the parapet, along with chimney stacks. These properties are included for their group value, as they form an island group with Nos 2 to 16 on Silver Street, as well as Nos 4 to 10 on Central Street and Nos 43 to 55 on Crown Street.
