Description
The Saltaire Mills chimney, located to the east of the complex, is a mill chimney built between 1851 and 1853 by the architects Lockwood and Mawson for Titus Salt. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a tall, square, tapering design. The base of the chimney has rusticated rock-faced quoins, which support a cornice on large square brackets. The upper part of the chimney is mostly plain, with only slit-like recesses for decoration. This chimney is an integral part of the Saltaire model village.
