Description

Bolton Old Hall Cottage is an early to mid 17th century building that has been recased in timber frame, forming the east wing of Bolton Old Hall. It is two stories high and constructed of coursed thin cut gritstone. The roof is made of stone slate and features shaped kneelers at the gable end. On the first floor, there is one single light window and a three-light chamfered mullion casement window. The ground floor has a two-light mullioned casement window and an early 19th century glazing bar sash window next to a doorway, both set in plain surrounds. The timber frame and roof structure appear to extend from Bolton Old Hall.
