Description

This is a terrace of overlookers' houses with a lodging house, now a house, at each end, built around 1854 by Lockwood and Mawson for Titus Salt. The structure is made of hammer-dressed stone and features a Welsh slate roof. The end houses and No 43 are three stories tall, while the rest are two stories. Each house has two bays, except for the end houses, which have a single bay. The end houses and No 43 project slightly forward. The ground-floor openings are round-arched with archivolts, while the first-floor openings are square-headed and set on a sill band. The houses have wooden gutter brackets and hipped roofs, with two-bay left and right returns. This terrace is part of the Saltaire model village.
