Description
Cross Bank Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the mid 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with dressed quoins and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and consists of two cells. Each cell includes a doorway with monolithic jambs. The first cell has a two-light chamfered window that lacks a mullion, with a three-light chamfered mullioned window above it on the first floor. The second cell features a two-light flat-faced mullioned window, with a three-light chamfered mullioned window above. The gable is coped and has kneelers, and there is a large central stack on the ridge. At the rear, there is an outshut that includes a three-light chamfered mullioned window.
Inside, the easternmost room contains stop-chamfered spine beams and floor-joists, along with a fireplace that has a monolithic lintel with a segmental arch and a stop-chamfered surround.
