Description

This is a terrace of 19 houses, numbered 1 to 39 (odd), located on Elizabeth Street. The houses date to 1846, as indicated by a plaque on the return elevation of number 39. They are constructed of sandstone that appears like brick. The roofs are covered with stone slates and feature corniced chimneys. The terrace has deep flat eaves supported by shaped modillion brackets. Each house has two windows with revealed sash windows; these windows lack glazing bars and have plain ashlar lintels. The front doors are panelled and are topped with semi-circular fanlights. The doorways are framed by heavy Doric pilasters, deep friezes, bracketed cornices, and pedimental blocking courses with dies.
