Description

This is a row of nine sandstone cottages, numbered 71 to 83, built around 1850 on the south side of Holroyd Hill in Wibsey. The cottages have stone slate roofs with shallow flat stone brackets at the eaves. Most windows are plain and have lintels with later 19th-century glazing. The doorways originally had squared jambs, but numbers 77 and 79 feature cornices supported by consoles, and number 83 has a pilastered doorway with consoles to its cornice and a corniced, canted stone window. The buildings are listed for their group value.
