The building is a malt kiln and warehouse, now used as a workshop, located adjacent to number 21 Micklethwaite. It dates from the 19th century and is constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a modern tile roof. The structure is two storeys high and has a long rectangular shape.

The south elevation, which faces the farmyard, features four first-floor windows. The ground floor includes two 2-light flat-faced mullioned windows with recessed mullions. On the first floor, there is a 2-light chamfered mullioned window with arched lights and sunken spandrels, followed by two 2-light flat-faced mullioned windows. There is also a doorway with monolithic jambs and a raised lintel, accessed by a flight of five stone steps, and a 3-light double-chamfered mullioned window. The right-hand return wall features a Venetian window with an expressed keystone set in the gable.
