Description

The Mechanics Institute, dated 1868, is a two-storey building located on Stone Hall Road in Eccleshill. It features a pediment gable front made of ashlar stone, topped with a finial. The façade has three bays, with an impost string connecting the two outer keyed, arched windows on the first floor, which are flanked by a central group of three windows. The ground floor has pilastered and corniced doorways on either side of a tripartite window, which also has a cornice above it. The side elevations are adorned with plain round-headed windows.
