Description
Nos 19 and 21 on Church Street are a pair of 18th-century terrace cottages that stand two storeys tall. They are constructed from coursed, dressed stone, which has been painted. The cottages feature hooped metal gutter stays. Each cottage has a single vernacular form of Venetian window, characterized by a flat head on the central, taller light and slab surrounds. Below these windows are shop fronts dating from the early to mid-19th century, which include pilasters that support an entablature with a moulded cornice. The shop front on the left has a left-hand door, while the right-hand shop front is narrower, featuring a separate left-hand door and a blocked right-hand gimmel with an overlight. No 19 has a rear extension with a parallel roof span, which includes a similar Venetian window on the west end of the ground floor, adorned with Gothic glazing bars.
