Description

Number 14 and Number 16, also known as Castle House, is a dwelling house dating from around 1740. It is a two-building composition. The building is constructed of squared coursed stone with a stone slate roof, and features three plain string courses, two of which are level with the west window sills. A central stone doorway has a Gibbs surround, and a secondary doorway is located to the side. There are three windows across the front, with a Gibbs surround to the window above the central doorway; the other windows have stone architraves. Long and short quoins project, but are not chamfered. The glazing bars have been lost. The building is very massively built and remains externally in un-spoilt condition, except for the ground floor window sills, which have been lowered.
