Description
Lister's Arms Hotel is a building dating from 1825, located on the corner of Cunliffe Road in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. It is a three-storey structure made of dressed, coursed stone and features pilaster strips at each end. The roof is hipped and covered with slate. The facade includes five sash windows, with the end bays slightly set back and the windows spaced further apart. A wooden bow window, consisting of six lights and two half lights, spans the left side of the front. Each floor has a sill band, and there is a central round-headed doorway that features a keystone, impost blocks, a fanlight, and a door with nine vertical, moulded panels. Flanking the doorway are carriage lamps mounted on iron brackets, and there is a curved terrace on either side of the steps leading to the door.
To the right, there is a later one-storey lean-to extension with two windows. To the left, there may be a later three-storey extension that has small irregular windows. The front of the building displays large, moulded relief letters in an Ionic style, similar to those found on the Crescent Hotel, likely dating from around 1850.
