Description

Numbers 23, 25, and 27 with an adjoining barn were built around 1800 as back-to-back cottages located near Back Lane Farm, Back Lane. They are constructed of sandstone, appearing like brick, with stone slate roofs and corniced chimneys. The cottages have three-light square mullioned windows in squared surrounds on both frontages. The doorways, with squared jambs, are on the Westfield Lane side and have gabled hoods. The barn, extending the range to the east, has a set-back section on its south front featuring two windows and a squared jamb doorway. The front of the barn facing Westfield Road has a segmental voussoir archway with a keystone.
