Description

Nos 1, 3 and 5 on Westfield Lane in Idle, built in the late 18th century, form a row of cottages with some alterations from the 19th century. The buildings are two-storey and constructed from irregularly coursed gritstone, topped with stone slate roofs and featuring corniced chimneys. They have two-light square mullion windows set in squared surrounds, which were originally four-light windows. A shop front has been added to part of the ground floor, and the doorways have squared jambs. This row is included for its group value and occupies an important corner site.
