Description

Nos 369 and 371, Highfield Road, Idle, are a late 16th-century house with a later extension or subdivision. No 371 represents the original building, while No 369 was added subsequently. The original house is constructed of sandstone "brick" with flush quoins and saddlestones, and has a stone slate roof with corniced chimneys and bracketed eaves. No 369 features three-light square mullion windows set within squared surrounds. The windows in No 371 are modern wood casements, also within squared surrounds. A single-window addition is set back on No 369. Doorways are characterised by squared jambs. The buildings are included on the list for group value.
