Description
Cropper Fold Farm Barn is a barn dating from the early to mid-17th century, with a roof that was altered in the early 19th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and has a stone slate roof. The barn features a single aisle and a gabled cart-entry located in the aisle, which has a tall semicircular archway with a chamfered surround. Above this archway is an arched light with sunken spandrels. The gable is coped and includes kneelers, along with a base for a finial that has a much-weathered round base dating from the 17th century, which is an unusual feature.
In the left re-entrant angle, there is a doorway with composite jambs and a chamfered surround. To the left of the cart-entry, there are two 2-light chamfered mullioned windows with arched lights. To the right, there are two inserted windows to the left of the doorway, which have an altered lintel but retain chamfered composite jambs. The gables are coped and include kneelers. The left-hand return wall features a doorway with a quoined lintel and a broad chamfered surround.
