Description

This is a farmhouse, originally dated and initialed "BF", and likely built in the late 17th or early 18th century, with alterations and additions in the 18th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with dressed quoins dated 1772, and has a stone slate roof. The house follows a 2-cell central direct-entry plan, meaning it was designed with two main rooms and a central entrance. The front doorway has tie-stone jambs and a date plaque above the lintel. To either side of the doorway are 4-light mullioned windows, one above the other, with slightly recessed mullions. Gable stacks are present. To the left of the main house is a later addition with a 2-light window on the first floor and a 20th-century lean-to covering the ground floor. The rear elevation has two 2-light windows to the ground floor and two 3-light windows above. A small stair window with an arched head and keystone is set between the upper windows.
