Description

Nos 7 to 17 Hanover Square is a row of small houses built around 1840-1850. These two-storey houses are constructed from small cut gritstone ashlar and are arranged in pairs with a stepped design. They feature stone gutter courses and slate roofs. Each house has two windows and doorways that are topped with cornices supported by console brackets. This row complements Nos 52 to 56, which are similar in style, and together they create the approach to the square. The row is included for its group value.
