Description

This building, located at 111, 113, and 117 Norfolk Street, is a group of three houses that have been converted into a restaurant and shop. It was constructed around 1840, with alterations made in the late 19th century and late 20th century. The structure is made of brick with ashlar dressings and features gabled and hipped slate roofs, along with three gable stacks.

The exterior showcases a plinth and moulded wooden eaves. It stands three storeys tall with a five-by-three window arrangement. The front facing Norfolk Street has, on the left, a section with three plain sash windows, and above them, three partly reglazed nine-pane sashes, all topped with brick flat arches. A full-width late 19th-century wooden shopfront has been altered in the late 20th century; it includes panelled pilasters supporting a large bracketed cornice, with a recessed central glazed door flanked by single-pane windows.

To the right, there is a block with modillion eaves, featuring two twelve-pane sashes with brick flat arches. Above this section, to the left, is a large flat-roofed through-eaves dormer with a margin-glazed three-light window, and to its right, a small segment-headed plain sash. Below this block, there is a late 19th-century wooden shopfront that wraps around both sides. The corner doorway is adorned with panelled and enriched flanking pilasters and a half-glazed door with patterned glazing and an overlight. To the left of the doorway, there is a single-pane window with similar pilasters and a bracketed fascia with an enriched frieze and cornice.

The right return, facing Surrey Street, has three twelve-pane sashes, with the left one being blank, and all are topped with brick flat arches. Above this, there are three segment-headed plain sashes. Below, the shopfront return has three single-pane windows, and to the right, there is an altered doorway with an overlight. The interior has not been inspected.
