Description
The Brown Bear Public House is a public house built in the late 18th century, with alterations made in the mid 19th century and late 20th century. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof with a single gable stack. The building has moulded wooden eaves and stands three storeys high. The façade includes a two-window range of plain sashes with soldier courses, and above these are two smaller, similar windows. The central entrance features a renewed wooden doorcase with pilasters and a pediment, leading to a fielded six-panel door with a blank overlight above. On either side of the entrance, there are plain sashes with leaded glazing and soldier courses. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
