Description
No. 32 Cambridge Street is a former Sunday school, now a shop, built in 1832 with late 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with a single gable stack. It has a plinth, sill bands on the upper floors, a gable band, and a single coped gable. The structure is three storeys high and has a window arrangement of three by four.
On the upper floors, there are three 15-pane sash windows, and above these, there are three similar sashes, with the central one being partly reglazed. All these windows have painted rusticated lintels. The ground floor is rendered and includes a double door on the left and two windows on the right, all dating from the 20th century. The gable features an inscribed and dated tablet.
The right side of the building, facing Bethel Lane, has four 20-pane sashes, with the rightmost window altered, and above these, there are five similar sashes. The ground floor on this side has four blocked windows on the left and, on the right, a door with a glazing bar overlight followed by another window. The interior was not inspected, and the building was vacant at the time of the survey.
