Description
No. 35 High Street is a shop and dwelling built in the late 18th century, with alterations from the 19th century. The building is made of painted brick and features a plain tile gable roof with a reduced stack at the rear. It has four storeys and a cellar, with a single-window range that includes a 6/6 sash window under a stone lintel, and 3/6 and 3/3 sashes under stone lintels above. The late 19th-century shop front is located to the right and includes a half-glazed panelled door with a casement overlight beneath a panelled soffit. The shop front also features a canted plate-glass window with a moulded case and glazing bar, a moulded fascia-board, and a modillioned hood supported by stop-consoles on panelled pilasters. At the rear, there is a 19th-century 6/6 sash window and a fixed light, along with a 3/3 sash and a 20th-century 3/3 sash. There is a blocked entrance and a tripartite window with plain sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
