Description
The barn and cowhouse at Cowley Manor Farm, dating from the 18th century, is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a corrugated asbestos roof. It stands two storeys tall and is characterized by large quoins. There is a doorway located to the left of the centre, which has quoin reveals and a cambered arch. On either side of this doorway, there are inserted wood casements. To the right of the main entrance, stone steps lead up to the loft, and beyond this is another ground floor doorway that also has quoin reveals, a deep stone lintel, and an arched soffit. Above the right doorway, there is an unglazed two-light square-faced mullion window. The loft doorway is similarly detailed with quoin reveals and a deep stone lintel. On the right side of the building, there are similar two-light mullion windows on each floor. A low building attached to the left side is not of special interest. The barn is included partly for its group value.
