Description
This is a sewer gas lamp located at the junction with Monckton Road in Sheffield. It dates from the late 19th century and was made by the Webb Lamp Company. The lamp is constructed from cast iron and is painted green. It features a conical shape with a domed cap, supported by curved brackets at the top of a fluted round column that has a bulged foot and ladder rests. The lamp stands on a round pedestal with a plinth, and on opposite sides, there are moulded panels displaying the maker's name. Although the lamp is complete, it was not functioning at the time of the survey.
