Steel working shop, now annealing and cleaning plant. 1913. For the Kayser Ellison firm. Steel framed structure with glass and brick infill panels and concrete dressings, with corrugated iron roof. Concrete plinth, sills, floor bands, cornice and pedimented north-west gables. Open to roof, with 3 storey elevation. 17 x 4 bays. Fully glazed first floor and above it a gallery around the lower second floor. Both have multi-pane glazing. On the south-west side, a 4 bay bridge at second floor level to the adjoining building. Pedimented gable with a round window. Ground floor has brick infill. North-west gable has pedimented gable with round window and on the ground floor a pair of large sliding doors. South-east gable has similar doors and its peak clad in corrugated iron. INTERIOR not inspected. Part of the sole surviving large crucible steel works in Sheffield. An early example of steel framed industrial building.
