Sweet factory, and attached enclosure wall. c1850. Coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and slate roof with single brick and stone gable stacks. 2 storeys; 3 window range. Built into a hillside, so that the front is single storey. Front has chamfered plinth. 3 large windows and to right, a board door with raised stone surround. Rear has 3 windows above, and below, a small door flanked by single large windows. Coursed squared stone enclosure wall surrounding the building on all sides is largely demolished. Curved section at the front has fragments of chamfered coping and 2 square monolithic gate piers, with a square stone pier with flat cap to left. INTERIOR not inspected. The building was used as a studio in the early C20 by Charles Green, a local modeller and founder of the Hunter Archaeological Society. Building vacant and boarded up at time of survey.
