Description
No. 113 Arundel Street is a house and former cutlery works, now used as offices. It dates from the early 19th century, with alterations made in the mid 19th century and late 20th century; the right gable was rebuilt around 1988. The building is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof featuring a gable stack. It has a plinth and modillion wood eaves, and stands three storeys tall with a five-window range.
The windows mostly have brick flat arches. On the first floor, there is an off-centre plain sash window, with a 12-pane sash window to the left and three closely spaced 12-pane sashes to the right, the central one being inserted and having a lintel. Above this, to the left, is a small glazing bar casement, flanked by a 9-pane sash on the left and a top-hung casement on the right. To the right, there is an inserted 9-pane sash with a lintel, flanked by single 20th-century casements.
On the ground floor, to the left, there is a pilastered wooden doorcase without its cornice, framing a close boarded door with a rubbed brick round head and a fanlight. To the right of this door, there is a fielded six-panel door with an overlight, followed by two boarded-up windows. The interior has not been inspected.
