Description

The service building at Mosborough Hall Hotel, also known as The Old Hall, is a structure that dates back to the early 17th century, with alterations made in the mid 19th century and late 20th century. It was converted into a hotel in 1976. The building is constructed from coursed squared stone, featuring a rendered right gable, ashlar dressings, and a concrete tile roof.

Architectural details include a chamfered plinth, quoins, and coped gables with kneelers. The building has an open roof and a two-storey elevation. The windows are leaded casements with chamfered stone mullions and surrounds. The front gable on the west side has three two-light windows and a smaller two-light window in the gable above. Below these windows, there is a central square-headed doorway flanked by single cross-mullioned windows, all covered by a late 20th-century wooden corridor. The south side features a two-light window to the left and a four-light window to the right, with similar fenestration below that includes larger windows. The north side has a two-light window to the left and a single window to the right, while the east gable has a small single window on each side.

Inside, the east end features a large moulded segmental arched fireplace with a keystone, flanked by single segment-headed doorways. Above this fireplace, there are two small doors that originally led to the first floor. The roof structure consists of a double purlin common rafter design.
