Description
This is a house located at 2 Duke Street in Sheffield, dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and features a concrete tile roof, which has two coped stone gable stacks. It is two storeys high and has a three-window range of plain sashes that are framed by moulded wood surrounds.
The central entrance is highlighted by an ashlar doorcase that has a flat hood supported by slender ashlar columns, which are topped with ball finials. The door itself is a half-glazed six-panel design from the 19th century. On either side of the door, there are plain sashes with moulded wooden surrounds and splayed keystone lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
