Description

No. 20 Broomhall Road is a house dating circa 1840, constructed of ashlar with a hipped slate roof and two coped stone side wall stacks. The design combines Classical and Tudor Gothic architectural elements. The house has a plinth, a band at first-floor level, and angle pilasters. It features modillion wooden eaves. The two-storey facade has a three-window range of transomed double lancet windows with chamfered flat-headed surrounds and label moulds. A projecting central section has a pediment above a single window, and below it is a square stone portico with panelled square piers supporting an elliptical arched doorway with glazed sides and a door. Larger windows are located on either side of the projecting section. The interior has not been inspected.
