Description

The cart shed, located approximately 15 metres behind number 22 on High Street in Wath Upon Dearne, is a 2-storey building that forms part of number 22A. It features a lintel dated 1745 and is constructed from deeply-coursed, dressed sandstone with a stone slate roof. The building has large quoins and a central ashlar pier that supports two segmental-arched cart entrances. The left entry has been infilled, while the right entry includes an internal sliding door. The hipped roof has stone ridges, and on the right side, there is a 2-light square-faced mullioned window on each floor. A boarded door is located on the first floor to the right, with a quoined surround and a dated keystone that is tooled on the lintel. External steps have been removed, and there is a matching first-floor window on the left side.
