Description
This former cart shed, dating from around 1840, is located 2 meters behind No. 22A on Main Street in Shildon. It is constructed from sandstone rubble, featuring dressed quoins and voussoirs. The building has a pantiled roof and a brick chimney. It is two stories high with a four-bay front that showcases flush, tooled quoins. The ground floor includes segmental-arched openings adorned with tooled-and-margined voussoirs, projecting keystones, and replaced, boarded double doors. Above, there are square boarded openings with flush lintels and projecting sills. The roof is low-pitched, and a central axial chimney rises from the front wall.
