4/109 L-shaped range of farmbuildings approx. 30 metres to north-west of Stotfold Farmhouse

GV II

Barn and cowhouse probably originally with some domestic accommodation. Late C17-early C18. Rubble sandstone, stone slate eaves courses to pantile roof. L-shaped plan with barn forming one limb, cowhouse with hayloft forms the other; angle now infilled by C20 covered yard. 2 storeys. Cowhouse range has 3 quoined and Tudor-arched doorways; double-chamfered window on right; central door flanked by small, chamfered lights (now blocked) and by slatted casements in the positions of square-headed doorways. Barn on left has chamfered, Tudor-arched waggon entrance, slit vents. Kneelers and roll-moulded gable copings to both ranges. Rear of cowhouse has 3, two-light, double-chamfered mullioned windows, ground-floor window has dripstone. External steps to door in rear gable of barn. Left return of barn has quoined, arched waggon entrance now set behind sliding door.

Interior: spiral stone staircase in cowhouse range. Principal-rafter truss roof with double purlins incorporating much reused timber.
