Description
Nos 41 and 42 are a pair of houses, likely built in the early 19th century and later extended. They are constructed of ashlar limestone with stone slate eaves courses beneath a pantile roof. The buildings are two storeys high and feature two windows on the first floor for each house, with a continuous outshut that has been partly heightened. Originally symmetrical, the houses have been extended to the right in a manner that matches the original design. Each house has a door framed in ashlar with a Tudor-arched lintel, flanked by two-light mullioned windows that have casements with glazing bars, all set in recessed, chamfered surrounds on each floor. There are offset plinths leading to rendered brick end stacks with oversailing courses, and a matching ridge stack on the party wall. These houses are included for their group value.
