Description
No. 12 South Parade is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and has a pantile roof. The building stands three storeys high and features three bays. The doorway in the first bay has a margin-glazed door with a plain overlight, set within a stone architrave that is topped by a cornice supported by consoles. The second and third bays each have 4-pane sash windows with projecting sills, which are set beneath rubbed-brick flat arches. The first-floor windows are similar, but the central window is painted and includes a County fire-insurance plaque. On the second floor, there are 6-pane casements flanking a blind central window. The house is finished with a modillioned eaves cornice and has a truncated end stack on the right.
