Description
Gunthwaite Hall, located on Gunthwaite Lane, is a farmhouse that has been divided into two separate units. It dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century and is constructed of coursed, squared rubble with a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features four bays. It has millstone grit quoins and two entrances with quoined surrounds, flanked by a small single light window. To the right, there are two single sash windows, and to the left, there is a larger sash window. On the first floor, there is a two-light flat-faced mullion window and three single lights, with the rightmost light being blocked. The window and door surrounds have a tooled finish, and the gable copings are supported by cut kneelers. There are later brick stacks at the ends of the building. The rear has three bays, with four-pane sashes on the ground floor and casements on the first floor. A single-storey link block connects to the eastern part of the building. On the right return, there is a single light window on each floor, and a central stone plaque features a lead cartouche.
