Description

This is a house built in 1836 by Thomas Rayson, who acted as the contractor for its construction. It is brick-built with stone dressings and has hipped concrete tile roofs. The main house is symmetrical with three bays, and a one-bay addition is set to the right. The windows on the front of the main house have rusticated stone lintels. Ground and first floor windows have casement lower sections above two fixed lights; the fixed lights on the ground floor have margin panes, while those on the first floor are divided into small panes. The second-floor windows are glazing bar sashes. The added bay is slightly taller and incorporates tripartite glazing bar sash windows to each floor, with brick flat arches above, and has a separate hipped roof. The central bay of the main house features a doorway with a pilaster doorcase and modillion cornice, leading to a four-panel door with a plain overlight. The interior was not inspected during the historic record.
