Description
Numbers 63, 65, and 67, along with their attached railings, are a group of houses dating to the mid-19th century. They are constructed of brick with painted stone dressings and have slate roofs.
The front of the building is three storeys high with a basement and attic. Number 67, on the right-hand side, features a two-storey sashed canted bay window, set on a panel of brickwork, with a cornice and a first-floor sill band. The basement has a window with glazing bars and a stone lintel and mullions. A first-floor window above the doorway is sashed and has a segmental brick arch. A narrower window above it, also sashed with four over four panes, shares a similar arch. Two similar windows are above the bay. The doorway has panelled pilaster strips, console brackets supporting a cornice hood, and panelled reveals. Above the four-panel door is an overlight with a segmental top. Number 65 mirrors Number 67 in design, with more elaborate console brackets to its doorway. Number 63 repeats the details of Number 67, but instead of a doorway on the ground floor, it has a sashed window. A modillioned gutter cornice runs along the top. Chimneys are positioned in front of the ridge to the right of Numbers 63 and 65.
The left-hand return wall of Number 63, facing East Mount Road, has sashed windows, each with a segmental brick arch. Paired windows are present on the first, second, and attic floors, the latter within a gable treated as an open pediment. There is one bay to each side; the right-hand bay has blind recesses on the ground and first floors. The central doorways have a painted stone or stucco pilaster surround with paired openings and segmental tops, topped by a cornice. C20 doors are recessed within the entrances.
The interior of the buildings was not inspected. Iron railings, set on stone copings, enclose the basement areas facing The Mount.
