Description

The font, located approximately 2.5 metres north of the chancel of Heslington Church, is likely from the mid-19th century and is made of sandstone ashlar. It is designed in the Gothic style, featuring a water-holding base that is topped by a group of four columns adorned with stiff-leaf foliage. The octagonal font above has sunk quatrefoils and foliate bands. This font is included for its group value with the church.
