Description
65 Monkgate is a house dating from the early 19th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of pink-cream brick in Flemish bond and features a brick stack beneath a slate roof, along with timber modillioned eaves guttering and a doorcase. The exterior has a two-storey, one-bay front. To the left, there is a pilastered doorcase with a cornice, leading to a door with six sunk panels and a divided rectangular overlight set back in panelled reveals. The windows are four-pane sashes with painted stone sills and flat brick arches, with the first-floor windows partially obscured by the eaves fascia. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value as part of the streetscape on Monkgate.
