Description
No 17 on York Road is a house built in 1737, with early 19th-century additions and alterations, including its facade. The building is constructed of pinkish-brown brick in Flemish bond and has a Welsh slate roof. It is two storeys high and features three bays. The central entrance consists of a six-fielded panel door beneath a fanlight with radial glazing bars, framed by a doorcase with attached Doric columns, a frieze, and a hood. There is an additional entrance at one end, which has a six-panel door under a cambered arch. To the left, there is a full-height bow with tripartite sashes, and the windows are 12-pane sashes with wedge lintels. The house has end stacks. Inside, the left room features a moulded cornice, and the openwell staircase has a ramped handrail and square balusters.
